Contracts

a player job board with escrow, staff-settled disputes and reputation

Players post jobs with the reward held in escrow and other players take them. The money only moves when the poster confirms, the timer runs out or staff settle a dispute.

Contracts interface

Players already make deals with each other, for example a ride to Paleto, twenty steel for a builder or a lawyer for Thursday's hearing. Most of those deals run on trust, and when one side doesn't pay, staff get a ticket with no record of what was agreed.

Contracts puts those deals on a board. The poster sets a reward and it leaves their bank straight away, held with the contract. Another player takes the job, does it and hands it in, then the poster confirms and the worker gets paid. If the poster goes quiet, the contract completes on its own after a day. If something goes wrong, either side opens a dispute and the money stays held until staff pay the worker, refund the poster or split it.

Every listing shows the poster's record (completed contracts, average rating and how often their contracts end in a dispute). Workers build their own record the same way.

The money is the part we were careful with. Every change to a contract is a single guarded database update and every payout is claimed before it's paid, so double clicks, two players racing for the same job or two servers on one database can't pay anything twice. Also, money owed to someone offline waits for them and is paid when they log in.

What it does

  • Job board with search, category, type, lowest reward and sort filters
  • Reward taken from the poster's bank at posting and held in escrow
  • Full refund on a cancel while nobody has taken the job, and an automatic refund when nobody takes it in time
  • Hand-in and confirm, with automatic completion when the poster doesn't answer
  • Disputes from either side, settled by staff: pay the worker, refund the poster or split by percent
  • Staff dispute queue with both players' records and the full contract history, gated by an ACE
  • Item deliveries with ox_inventory: items leave the worker at hand-in and reach the poster on completion
  • Reputation for posters and workers: completed count, dispute rate and a rating from 1 to 5
  • Optional fee on payouts, either removed from the economy or paid to a treasury character
  • Limits on open contracts, contracts worked at once, reward range, post cooldown, text length and blocked words
  • Payouts and items wait for offline players and are paid when they load
  • Exports: PostContract, GetContract, GetReputation, plus a fee event for treasury scripts
  • Qbox, QBCore and ESX Legacy
